I so often hear people say “well, my computer told me I had a driver missing” or “it said i needed flash player”.
When you are travelling around the internet using your browser; and that could be Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox or one of the many others available, you may see messages about “missing drivers”, “you have infections, click here to clean”. DON’T!!!!!! These are adverts duping you to click on them and cause even more problems.
It’s not all it seems!!!
Generally, the rule of thumb is, if anything needs updating on your computer a bubble will pop up at the bottom right of your screen near your clock and advise you.
Another thing to look for, when you open up your browser, what does it say at the very top? If you know it should be the sky website for example, does it say http://www.sky.com or www.sky.com or something completely different? If it isn’t what you thought it was then your browser has been hijacked and needs resetting. This can be done in various ways depending on the
browser you are using.
If you need any help with any of the above please contact us. We offer Remote Support which means we can, with your assistance, go into your computer without you bringing it into the shop, and reset and clean up your machine. This can be from as little as £25.
